Refugee Employment Services is a program designed to help
refugees, asylees, and victims of human trafficking / torture to obtain
self-sufficiency and well-being for themselves and their families. AAA
case managers work one-on-one with clients and their families to address
their special needs and to help them remove barriers to employment. By
helping clients with translation, training, and learning about their new
country, obtaining long-term employment becomes an obtainable goal. And

Case
Manager Profiles
Most of our case managers are refugees too! They come from
Somalia, Ethiopia, Iran, and other countries. They speak the same
languages and dialects, and practice the same religions and cultural
traditions as our clients. Our case managers are especially trained to
provide case management and job development for our clients but they also
understand what it means to come to the United States and achieve
self-sufficiency for their families.

Participant Profiles
Most of AAA’s clients are refugee families enrolled in the
County of San Diego’s CalWORKs Program, some of our clients are refugees
seeking assistance in finding jobs or support services for their
families.Most of our clients come from Somalia and Vietnam, but we also
have many clients from Sudan, Iraq, Iran, Kosovo, Laos, Cambodia,
Columbia, and many other countries.Our clients speak many different
languages and dialects and practice different religions and traditions.

In collaboration with the San Diego Workforce Partnership
through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Alliance for African Assistance
provides supportive services to adult and dislocated workers, National
Emergency Grant/Wildfire and National Emergency Grant/Mortgage
participants taking part in activities at the various Career Centers
throughout the Grater San Diego Area. These services are designed to
assist Career Center participants remove barriers to employment such as
transportation, clothing and other work or training related expenses.
Alliance for African Assistance is committed to provide the highest
quality of customer service through the integration of all its programs
and the efficient utilization of local community resources. Our Supportive
Services Specialists are present at the different Career Centers from
Monday through Friday during business hours.
