Adult
Literacy Program.
Alliance For African
Assistance has discovered that illiteracy is one of the
biggest contributions of poverty in Uganda. This program
has been designed to help the rural poor be able read and
write especially the adults; to equip them with
appropriate skills for self-reliance.
Play Therapy.
These
children some formerly abducted and others not, are
traumatized, they are continuously exposed to
conflicts, aggression threats,
unpleasant sights, body torture, little access to
social facilities, poor health condition. They
are always confined in their homes, in school and where
they seek safe custody like in
church missions, hospitals, bus parks in
the night in the cold. The traumatized children need
treatment, and the best we can do is to provide play as a
therapy, these can be applicable as a mental and physical
treatment that may not necessitate a physician. The play
program target young children between the
ages of 5 to 16 years old.
