Language & Cultural Solutions: Alliance for African Assistance provides low-cost interpretation and translation services in more than 65 languages. Our interpreters and translators are highly trained and experienced. Their clients include hospitals, police forces, government agencies, clinics, schools, and various social service providers throughout San Diego County.

         

Women &Children: The need to help mothers and children in the community of San Diego has become critical.  As a non-profit organization we found this department to be highly essential and required for the future progression of this community.  It is our mission to ensure that the unique needs of refugee and to assist theses individuals and single held families to better themselves for their children future and that of San Diego.

 
 
 
 
         

Refuge Employment Services: Is a program designed to help refugees, asylees, and victims of human trafficking / torture to obtain self-sufficiency and well-being for themselves and their families.  AAA case managers work one-on-one with clients and their families to address their special needs and to help them remove barriers to employment.  By helping clients with translation, training, and learning about their new country, obtaining long-term employment becomes an obtainable goal.

Refuge Day Event :In 2000, the United Nations General Assembly designated June 20th as World Refugee Day, a day on which organizations around the globe pause to raise awareness regarding the plight of refugees. Each year, the Alliance for African Assistance recognizes World Refugee Day with a festive breakfast and program honoring the courage and commitment of our newest Americans and the people who help them. 

 

Donate and Celebrate:  Our Ninth Annual World Refugee Day Fundraiser Breakfast will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. in the Life Center Hall of the La Jolla Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $35 per person or $350 to reserve an entire table. The program includes refugee success stories, cultural presentations, a catered breakfast, refugee awards and recognition, a silent auction, door prizes, and chances to enjoy fellowship with refugees.

Call (619) 286-9052 and ask for Barbara or Jen-Marie to arrange for cash donations, donations of silent auction items, or to purchase tickets. Ask for Hope or Pamela to arrange for volunteer opportunities.
