Understanding the need. The Alliance for African Assistance is working to make a hopeful change in the lives Ugandan children with our Child Sponsorship Program. For 23 years, northern Uganda had been traumatized by a vicious war that caused brutal acts of violence and injustice to be taken against the Ugandan people, the Acholi tribe in particular. Through years of conflict, many children have been abducted, orphaned, and separated from their families.

Understanding your contribution. Through your generous monthly gift of $25.00, you provide for a child’s tuition, school uniform, and supplies. In addition, with the remaining funds from this donation, we can help the child’s family with food and medical costs. Your contributions are 100% tax deductible. You may pay by credit card or check. Many sponsors choose to send their sponsorship support quarterly, semi-annually or yearly.

Understanding our program. Our program is unique in that when you choose a child to sponsor, your gift is directly benefiting that child. Our staff in Uganda goes by motor scooter to the schools and homes of these sponsored children to distribute your donations. Your connection to this child will also grow through the letters, pictures, and report cards that our Ugandan staff collects to share with you. And of course, you are encouraged to write as often as you like, sharing pictures and stories of your own family and life in America.

We need your help! Only a quarter of the children enrolled in our sponsorship program have sponsors. The rest risk being expelled from school because of an inability to pay their school fees. Can you help us support these children in Uganda?
