Safari Seconds Thrift Store

Quality Second Hand Goods Needed and for Sale

The Alliance for African Assistance operates a non-profit Thrift Store which is dedicated to assisting and supporting refugees in meeting their basic needs required to adapt to their new homes. Frequently, many refugees arrive in the United States with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Our Thrift Store helps to provide a wide selection of items such as furniture, mattress sets, appliances, clothing, and household items to help as they rebuild and begin their lives in the US. Each year the Thrift Store provides support to approximately 1000 individuals and families.

The Thrift Store is operated by a dedicated staff and a wonderful group of volunteers. All profits and proceeds from the Thrift Store are used to cover the majority of the operating costs required to provide free furniture and household goods to the refugees.

Not only is the Thrift Store a place to shop, but it also functions as an on-the-job training site for many of our refugees. Refugees receive training in sorting donations, stocking the sales floor shelves, and managing the sales register. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to learn how to work within a retail store environment.

Come visit and shop with us. The Thrift Store is a wonderful place to find a wide selection of quality bargain new and used merchandise.
