Reports to: Program Manager

Position Overview: As part of a broader health team, the Psychologist will take a lead role in the provision of behavioral health and care-coordination services during this dynamic time in Healthcare Reform. The psychologist will work very closely with medical providers, psychiatrist, case worker/care coordinators, and patients to meet patients’ multiple clinical and non-clinical health needs through a strength-based model.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides weekly case conference with the multidisciplinary team, weekly group supervision with clinical team, and weekly individual supervision with staff.

  • Reviews clinical documentation of clinical staff on a regular basis, including regular chart audits.

  • Performs intake, mental health screening, assessments, & diagnoses.

  • Assists patients of Alliance Health Clinic to receive mental health services, health education and direct counseling services.

  • Develops and implements individual plans of treatment using a culturally

  • sensitive and strengths-based approach, to assist patients and families to

  • Refers participants and their families to appropriate community agencies or

  • facilities; coordinates services with such organizations and advocates for patients and/or their families.

  • case management, which may include interacting with other service providers and institutions.

  • Prepares complete and concise written materials, reports, and documentation.

  • Assesses and effectively meets the needs of the participants and their families, and works effectively with team members, representatives, community organizations and the public.

  • Actively participates in internal quality improvement teams and work with members proactively to drive quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards, when assigned.

  • Works extremely well under pressure and meets multiple and often competing deadlines.

  • At all times demonstrates cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, clients and the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Doctoral degree in Psychology is required.

  • Must be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or Psychologist in the State of

  • California. Must have five years of post-licensure experience.

  • Has substantial experience providing clinical supervision and meets Board of

  • Behavioral Sciences and/or Board of Psychology requirements to supervise

  • Thorough knowledge of culturally sensitive therapeutic principles
